Strategy and Board Initiative (SBI)

The Strategy and Board Initiative aims at

bringing the best available expertise on software business to most promising software-based firms to accelerate their growth in the global market.

This is done by matching the promising firms with seasoned experts, establishing an Advisory Board for the firm to address strategic and operational growth issues, and coaching the firm and the Advisory Board for six months. More specifically, the SBI has the following objectives:

1. Accelerate the growth and internationalization of participating firms.
2. Improve the quality and effectiveness of board-level work in participating firms.
3. Enhance the networks between Advisors and firms.
4. Improve the software firms' awareness of the benefits of focused strategy and board work and best practices available.

In 2011 the SBI will provide the following services:

• Match firms with suitable Advisors
• Provide training, facilitation and support for the Advisory Boards through a series of workshops
• Involve international Advisors in the Advisory Board work
• Expand the existing Advisory Board resources
• Involve talented students as assistants to the Advisory Boards
