SBI offers participating companies the following:
- best available senior level expertise to challence and support your growth
- practical support for managing your company
- easy introduction of best practices in board level work
- concrete support for strategy formulation and deployment
- improved contact network to other firms and senior Advisors
- improved visibility to potential investors
The Strategy and Board Initiative is open for all kinds of companies as we have a wide range of Advisors available and can match suitable Advisors to each company's needs. However, we believe that an Advisory Board is most suitable for the companies that have passed the initial start-up phase and have identified their markets and business models and are, therefore, building up the company and its business capabilities. For start-ups in the early phases we recommend programs like the Startup Sauna by the Aalto Entrepreneurship Society.
A fee of 500 Euros is invoiced on the companies that are accepted to the program. This allows the company to send up tp two people to SBI events, participate in the matching and searching of Advisors and access to presentation and support material created in the program.
Companiess should commit to the following:
- Organizing four to six Advisory Board meetings in six months
- Preparing the Advisory Board meetings, taking action between meetings
- Deployment of action to support company's growth
We prefer companies that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Willingness to grow
- Recognized need to challence existing strategy
- Ability and resources to take action to improve the current strategy or its deployment
- Recognized need to improve board-level work in the company
